Cara Main AOE2 Online

Meskipun game Age of Empires 2 The Conqueror (AOE2) merupakan PC Game lama, namun penggemarnya tidak berkurang bahkan kini muncul komunitas-komunitas AOE2 termasuk komunitas di Indonesia.

Game AOE 2 adalah permainan strategi perang yang mengutamakan kepiawaian pemain dalam berpikir memanfaatkan resource yang ada dan mengatur pasukan sesuai dengan negara (civilization) berdasarkan kelebihan dan kekurangan pasukan yang dimiliki.

Permainan strategi ini cukup komplek tetapi ringan untuk dimainkan. Di pentium II dengan RAM 128M dan VGA 32 M saja masih dapat berjalan dengan normal sekalipun dimainkan oleh delapan pemain sekaligus..

Seiring berkembangnya teknologi internet, para penggemar game AOE 2 ini makin banyak (dapat dilihat saat membuka gameranger). Para gamer dapat bermain online dengan player lain di wilayah yang berbeda. Cukup asyik memang, selain ringan tetapi tampilannya cukup lumayan meskipun tidak sebagus versi yang lebih baru Age of Empires III.

Untuk dapat bermain Age of Empires 2 online diperlukan program khusus yang dapat menghubungkan antar pemain dalam sebuah server, salah satunya adalah GameRanger. Silakan download dulu program GameRanger (gratis!) agar dapat bermain AOE2 online bersama player lain. Dengan Gameranger, para pemain dapat melakukan chatting tanpa perlu ikut serta bermain dalam sebuah forum melalui instant message box.

Sebelum bermain, pastikan sudah mempunyai Patch AOE 2 biasanya Patch 1.0e dan Patch 1.0c, kalau belum punya silakan searching saja di Google.

Cara bermain AOE 2 Online melalui GameRanger:
  1. Pastikan Game AOE 2 dan Patch AOE 2 telah di-install di PC 
  2. Pastikan koneksi internet bekerja normal agar tidak ada lag saat bermain
  3. Buka AOC Config kemudian pilih Patch sesuai lawan bermain untuk menyamakan versi game. Patch antar pemain harus sama
    Patch AOE2
  4. Buka Program GameRanger yang telah ter-install di PC kemudian cari gamer lain di seluruh dunia yang sedang memainkan AOE 2 (dapat terlihat di GameRanger)
  5. Double Clik salah satu pemain yang sedang membuka Room untuk bermain AOE 2 online
  6. Tunggu start oleh Host (yang membuka room)
  7. Permainan AOE 2 online akan dimulai otomatis tanpa perlu membuka game AOE 2 di PC.
